4D Planning
Link an IFC model to the schedule, element by element, then scrub the timeline and watch the model recolour by build status — off the same activities the Gantt edits, not a synced copy of them.
Who it is for. BIM coordinators and planners checking that a sequence actually builds the way the model implies, before it becomes a site instruction.
What it is for
A 4D review usually means exporting the schedule into a separate BIM tool with its own copy of the programme, which is stale the moment either side changes. Re-checking a sequence after a re-plan means doing the export again.
The link is to the live project, not an export. Most 4D tools ingest a schedule as a file and go stale the moment either side changes; here the same activities object the Gantt writes to drives the playback, so a re-plan is visible in the model with no re-sync step.
What it does
Every line below is in the product today.
Live schedule, not a snapshot
Element status windows are built directly from the open project’s activities — actual dates override planned — so re-dating or re-sequencing an activity changes the 4D playback immediately, with no re-import.
Status resolved from date windows, not typed in
Scrubbing recolours only linked elements, resolving each one to pending, in-progress or done from its activity’s actual-over-planned date window at the current scrub date.
GlobalId-keyed links survive a model re-upload
Element-to-activity links are keyed by the IFC file’s persistent GlobalId rather than the parser’s session-local id, so re-uploading a revised model with the same GlobalIds keeps every existing link working.
Bulk-link by type or storey
The mapping panel buckets every loaded element by IFC type and building storey with live linked-counts, and selects all matching into the same picker used for a single click-pick.
Storeys read from the model’s own spatial tree
Building-storey filters come from walking the IFC model’s own Project → Site → Building → Storey structure, not from guessing at names or geometry.
Playback stretches to the real finish
The scrubbable range starts at the project’s planned span but widens to cover any linked activity running past it, so a slipped schedule stays scrubbable to its actual finish rather than cutting off at the baseline end date.
Click-to-pick, with additive multi-select
Raycasting off the loaded geometry resolves a click to one element; holding Ctrl or Shift adds it to a running selection built directly in the 3D view.
The AI can take off a schedule from the model
AI Check can draft a WBS, activities and dependencies from an element-type-by-storey take-off of the loaded model, sizing duration from element count and a stated production rate.
A second colour mode for baseline slip
Alongside build-status colouring, a second mode shows how far each linked element has slipped against the saved baseline, directly on the building.
Play it back as a video
Record the timeline playback as a downloadable video showing the model and the activity timeline moving together, ready for a client or stakeholder review.
See it on your own schedule.
